Review and Renewal Process 2025
New Democrats know that campaigns may end, but our commitment to building a fairer, more compassionate Canada endures. Our movement is not defined by election cycles, but by our collective resolve to stand with working people, to advance justice, and to fight for the dignity and wellbeing of all.
The Party has an important opportunity and responsibility to review its work – to constructively evaluate what didn’t work and build on the things that did so we can build stronger and better for the next campaign. In recognition of this unique moment in the Party’s history, the process will also include opportunities to discuss how best we move forward. Envisioning what we want to become as a Party is critical to the health of our Party and Canadian democracy.
Your input and engagement are critical to this work. Here’s how you can participate in the review and renewal process today:
- Respond to our post-election survey found here: ndp.ca/2025-survey
- Send your suggestions and thoughts to reviewandrenewal@ndp.ca by September 19, 2025
Starting summer 2025, we will also be hosting:
- One-on-one meetings current and former MPs, stakeholders, and key campaign staff
- Guided discussions with Electoral District Associations (EDAs) and local campaign teams
- And listening sessions with party members
Together, we can ensure the NDP continues to play a pivotal role in building a better Canada for years to come.

What is the timeline for the process?
The process will be completed and a final report will be sent to members before the end of 2025.
We will begin the consultation stage of the process in July 2025. We are working to complete this stage of the process by mid-fall 2025.
Will the findings of the review be available to members and the public?
Yes. The input collected will inform a written report that will be circulated to members and available to the public. The report will include important insights on how to support the renewal and long-term growth of the Party. We hope that these insights will help fuel ongoing discussions and debates on the future direction of the NDP.
Who will be leading this process and how can I contact them?
Former NDP candidate and long-time member, Emilie Taman will be leading the process as the review and renewal process Facilitator.
Please do not hesitate to contact Emilie Taman at reviewandrenewal@ndp.ca with any questions.
