Vancouver Liberal candidate broke Trudeau’s own home flipping rules

Yesterday, Justin Trudeau promised to tax speculators who flip homes in under a year. But media reported this morning that his candidate in Vancouver-Granville has done exactly that three times in the last four years.

Liberal candidate Taleeb Noormohamed has made $600,000 flipping Vancouver condos since 2017.

Benchmark home prices in Greater Vancouver have gone up $417,200 since Justin Trudeau was elected in 2015. Since he broke his promise to bring in a speculation tax in Budget 2020, the benchmark price in Greater Vancouver is up $144,800.

Jagmeet Singh:

“For six years, Justin Trudeau has let speculators and home flippers off the hook while prices skyrocketed for regular people. He says the right things about the housing crisis. But just like last time, his promises are empty and people are going to pay for it.”
