Statement by NDP Leader Jagmeet Singh, in celebration of Gurpurab

Today marks the 548th anniversary of the birth of Guru Nanak Dev Ji and on behalf of the New Democratic Party, I wish everyone a joyous and prosperous Gurpurab.

Guru Nanak challenges injustice and inequality. He spread a message of love, equality, social justice, community service and unity.

As Sikhs across the world celebrate Gurpurab, we take this opportunity to recognize the universality of the values of Guru Nanak and how they align with values of Canadians. We are inspired by these values which shape our vision to build a more just and inclusive Canada.
