Statement by NDP Justice Critic, Françoise Boivin, on the retirement of Judge Morris J. Fish

New Democrats would like to recognize the exceptional contribution by Judge Morris J. Fish to Canada’s legal community, upon the announcement of his retirement.

The ten years he dedicated to the Supreme Court of Canada, as well as His long career in the public service, constitute an exemplary career of wisdom and integrity.

“With his tireless work and dedication, he leaves a profound mark on the Supreme Court. Throughout his career, his expertise in criminal law and consideration for people are testaments to his thoroughness and humanity. As a judge representing Quebec, he did his home province proud,” said Boivin.

Judge Fish is taking a well-deserve rest, but his contribution to jurisprudence will continue to guide and inspire legal practitioners for generations to come.

The New Democratic Party salutes his long and successful career and wishes him a happy and health retirement.
