Statement from the Leader of the Official Opposition on Passover

The Leader of the Official Opposition, Thomas Mulcair (Outremont), made the following statement to mark the beginning of Passover:

“Catherine and I extend our warmest wishes to members of the Jewish community as they gather to celebrate Pesach with songs, wine and a meal shared with friends and family.

Families will gather to retell the powerful story of the Exodus of the Jewish people out of slavery and celebrate the victory of freedom, faith and hope over oppression and persecution.

On behalf of New Democrats, we offer our best wishes and a happy holiday to families celebrating Passover across the country and around the world.
