REALITY CHECK: Trudeau’s health care system is failing Canadians
A new report from the Commonwealth Fund puts Canada's health care system second last, ahead of the United States, among high-income countries.
Among the 11 richest countries in the world, Canada ranks 10th. Successive cuts by Liberal and Conservative governments are largely responsible for this poor result — and Canadians are paying the price.
The report details why inequities in access to care persist across the country stating "financial barriers to accessing medical and dental care, medical bill burdens, difficulty obtaining after-hours care, and the use of web portals to facilitate patient engagement."
The Liberals persistent obstruction to improving Canada’s health care system only exacerbates this worsening situation:
- NDP's universal pharmacare plan: Justin Trudeau voted against it;
- NDP's plan to cover dental care: Justin voted against it;
- NDP's plan to remove profits from long-term care facilities: Justin voted against.
Justin Trudeau is only thinking about plunging the country into another election despite the fourth wave of COVID-19 looming on the horizon. His desire for power is clearly more important than his desire to help Canadians by improving our health care system.
Canadians deserve better.
