REALITY CHECK: Trudeau helps the rich and fails aerospace workers

After six years in office, Justin Trudeau’s failure to create a long-term strategy to support aerospace workers has cost us good jobs. As consolation though, workers did get these pretty words:

"Our government has always been proud to support the aerospace industry in Montreal, in Quebec and across Canada with record investments” Prime Minister Justin Trudeau", House of Commons, December 2, 2020.

Unfortunately, Trudeau’s “record investments” could not compensate for the lack of a pandemic plan that saw the loss of 4,500 direct aerospace jobs.

In contrast, Air Canada’s top executives thrived under Trudeau’s pandemic plan. In fact they lined their pockets with emergency funds to pad their bonuses, until they got caught.

Trudeau’s priorities couldn’t be more clear – CEO’s and his rich friends come first.

No version of the “Justin Trudeau Pre-election Show” can replace his missing aerospace strategy and restore the jobs lost.

Canadians deserve better.
