NDP response to recent layoffs

NDP leader Don Davies issued the following statement

"New Democrats are very concerned that this government is not taking the jobs crisis seriously.

The Liberals knew that Algoma Steel was laying off a thousand workers and still handed them 400 million dollars. This comes after they gave Stellantis 300 million dollars after 3 thousand workers lost their jobs.

All the while this government is failing to meet their promises to build more housing or provide pharmacare to all Canadians. The Prime Minister has also told Canadians they will need to sacrifice during this jobs crisis.

Why did the Liberals give half a billion dollars has gone to these companies that have eliminated four thousand Canadian jobs?"
