NDP REALITY CHECK: More evidence that the Conservative economic plan isn’t working

Canada’s economy continues to shrink and a troubling 26,300 private sector jobs were lost last month, as experts increasingly warn that Canada may face another recession.

The Finance Minister keeps insisting – no matter how much evidence to the contrary mounts – that everything is rosy and there’s no need to change their plans.

Meanwhile, the Minister of Employment and Social Development is now trying to recast their child benefit as stimulus spending.

And instead of taking responsibility for his economic failed plan, the Prime Minister is busy blaming global forces for a decade of his own economic mismanagement.

Amidst the confusion, Canadians are left with:

  • a Jobs Minister with no plan to create jobs;
  • a Finance Minister in denial about the state of the nation’s finances;
  • and a Prime Minister who is quick to take credit when things are good, but always finds someone else to blame when things go sour and Canadian families pay the price.

Canadians deserve better.
