Keystone XL a bad deal for Canadians

While Americans debate the Keystone XL pipeline, shipping thousands of quality, middle-class jobs across the border remains a bad deal for Canadians.

“The Conservative government’s bumbling approach to oil sands development has given Canada a black eye and hurt our relationship with our closest ally,” said NDP Natural Resources critic Peter Julian. “This report highlights how oil from the oil sands is more greenhouse gas intensive, yet the Conservatives have stalled regulations for the oil and gas sector for years.”

New Democrats want development to serve Canada’s long-term environmental and economic prosperity, not short-sighted projects that export Canadian jobs and isolate us internationally.
