Responsibilities

  • Develop, execute and refine a strategic communications strategy
  • Coordinate, in conjunction with the Member’s other staff, outreach to constituents
  • Monitor national, regional, and local media and prioritize issues for the Member
  • Write content for digital campaigns and direct mailings
  • Manage the Member’s social media accounts to achieve steady growth and consistent branding
  • Website maintenance
  • Graphic design
  • Attend events with the Member
  • Assist with speeches, speaking notes, Questions, and committee work, when required

Qualifications

  • Excellent communications (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills
  • Proven ability to work to tight deadlines and under pressure
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Knowledge of the New Democratic Party, the labour movement, federal government departments, community organizations
  • Knowledge of Saskatoon West and riding priorities
  • Strong familiarity with social media (eg. Facebook, YouTube, etc.)
  • Mastery of desktop publishing software and graphic design
  • Sound political judgment
  • Administrative experience, an asset
  • Knowledge of databases, an asset

Annual salary

$55,000

(salary levels subject to clauses 12 and 21 of the collective agreement)
