Constituency Office, Louiseville, Quebec

Responsibilities

  • Ensure that bills and MP’s expenses are paid
  • Welcome visitors
  • Manage and assign faxes, phone calls and emails
  • Accomplish various administrative and reception tasks
  • Help the MP respond to correspondence
  • Help prepare mail distribution
  • Help coordinate the MP’s calendar
  • Identify important events in the riding and put together a news roundup
  • Other tasks as needed

Qualifications

  • Proven communication skills (verbal and written)
  • Excellent command of the French language
  • Strong organizational skills, ability to work under pressure and to meet deadlines
  • Strong computer skills including Internet, Windows and MS Office
  • Relevant post-secondary education or equivalent experience
  • Knowledge of Berthier — Maskinongé riding and riding priorities
  • Knowledge of the New Democratic Party and sound political judgement
  • Knowledge of the labour movement, government departments and community organizations
  • Familiarity with social media (eg. Facebook, YouTube, Twitter, etc.)
  • Familiarity with desktop publishing software, graphic layout skills, an asset
  • Knowledge of databases, an asset
  • Bilingualism, an asset

Hourly rate

$24.79

(salary levels subject to clauses 12 and 21 of the collective agreement)
