Communications Officer, Temporary contract – Full time
Canada’s New Democrats are searching for a Communications Officer to join our team for a temporary contract (until the end of March 2026). The Communications Officer will contribute to the success of the 2026 convention.
Job Duties & Details
- Write press releases and other communications materials
- Assist in developing content and communications strategy for the NDP convention
- Ensure written materials follow political messaging and standards
- Write content for other organization departments from time-to-time
- Ensure written products conform to Message Guide
- Assist in the development of Message Guide
- Other duties as assigned
Required Skills & Experience
- Self-motivated, with the ability to manage time and self-direct workflow
- Exceptional English-language written communications skills
- Exceptional interpersonal and communications skills
- Strong ability to multi-task and set priorities;
- Deadline and detail oriented;
- Demonstrated ability to work with confidential information;
- Ability to meet deadlines, work productively under pressure, and handle competing priorities
- Ability to show initiative and manage projects independently
- Political judgment and existing knowledge of Canadian politics

Compensation:
$69,823.03 annual starting + health and dental + 8% pension contribution (as per Collective Agreement with COPE 225)
