Will Arthur Hamilton also take “full responsibility”?
Conservative attempts to confine the Senate scandal to Nigel Wright took a blow today.
Duffy now says Conservative Party lawyer Arthur Hamilton, (best known for his roles in the robocall and In-and-Out scandals,) was involved in the scheme to repay his expenses:
“Wait until Canadians see the email trail in the hands of my lawyers, and I hope in the hands of the RCMP. Those emails, among the PMO, their lawyers, including Ben Perrin, […] the Conservative party's lawyer Arthur Hamilton was involved, and my lawyer.”
-Mike Duffy, Senate, October 28th, 2013
Not only that, but Duffy tabled copies of invoices and cheques for his legal fees bearing Mr. Hamilton’s signature, making it a bit harder for his Conservative friends to deny involvement.
“The PMO, listen to this, had the Conservative party's lawyer, Arthur Hamilton, pay my legal fees. He paid for my lawyer. Arthur Hamilton, a check, $13,560. That's right, senators, not one payment, not one payment, but two.”
-Mike Duffy, Senate, October 28th, 2013
Every day, the Conservative web of lies on the Senate scandal keeps falling apart. There’s only one way for Stephen Harper’s crew to stop this mess: stop the cover-up and lame excuses and come clean. Did Arthur Hamilton inform the Prime Minister at any point of what he knew?
Canadians deserve better. They deserve the truth.
