Stephen Harper – “practices that we are more likely to find in third world countries”

Stephen Harper is ramming through the Unfair Elections Act and using Time Allocation to avoid debate.

Maybe he should reflect on his comments from 1996:

“In my view, the procedure of using time allocation for electoral law, doing it quickly and without the consent of the other political parties, is the kind of dangerous application of electoral practices that we are more likely to find in third world countries.”
– Stephen Harper, House of Commons, November 26, 1996

Canadians deserve better than Stephen Harper’s Conservatives rewriting election laws to give the Conservative Party an unfair advantage.
