Reality Check: Conservatives break their own Time Allocation record, again
Today, the Conservatives broke their own record for use of Time Allocation in a sitting Parliament – AGAIN!
It is now the 33rd time they have shut down debate in the House of Commons.
But let’s look back to what Conservatives said about this undemocratic tactic, back when they were in opposition:
“Mr. Speaker, here we go again. This is a very important public policy question that is very complex and we have the arrogance of the government in invoking closure again. When we look at the Liberal Party on arrogance it is like looking at the Grand Canyon. It is this big fact of nature that we cannot help but stare at.” _–_James Moore, Hansard, December 9, 2002
Sometimes hypocrisy is a dish best served cold.
Canadians deserve better.
