New Democrats Focused on Delivering the Solutions Canadians Need Now

OTTAWA – Today, New Democrat MPs gathered in Ottawa to plan for the upcoming parliamentary sitting where they will continue to fight to deliver the things Canadians need to help with the problems they face every day.

“Justin Trudeau says the right things in public but doesn’t deliver the help that people need now. He’s taking care of big corporations, while Canadians struggle and fall further and further behind,” said NDP Leader Jagmeet Singh. “We’re focused on what matters: jobs families can rely on, making life more affordable, fighting the climate crisis, and making the ultra-wealthy pay their fair share.”

New Democrats will start the new parliamentary sitting with a continued debate of the Liberals’ planned tax giveaways to the wealthy and the NDP’s proposal to target those cuts and create dental care for Canadians making less than $90,000 per year.

“People know that too often, the Liberals say the right things but don’t follow through with actions that actually help Canadians,” added Singh. “New Democrats are laying out a better way forward – with concrete solutions that make life better for everyday people across the country.”

In the new sitting, New Democrats will continue to be focused on delivering the help Canadians need – from pharmacare to the fight for a $15 federal minimum wage – for the problems people face every day.
