NDP urges government to stop propaganda and put Canadians back to work
OTTAWA — New Democrats tabled a motion in the House of Commons today urging the Conservative government to put an end to its Economic Action Plan advertising campaign and use these funds to put Canadians back to work.
The motion, tabled by New Democrat MP Jean Rousseau (Compton-Stanstead), reads as follows:
“That this House urge the government to immediately end the Economic Action Plan advertising campaign and instead use the funds to put Canadians back to work.”
“Employment figures are alarming and 1.4 million Canadians are still unemployed. Last month alone, 55,000 jobs were lost, but the Conservatives prefer to invest massive amounts in propaganda instead of creating jobs,” said Jean Rousseau. “Canadians deserve better.”
