NDP Statement on Rosh Hashanah

Jagmeet Singh, Leader of Canada’s NDP, issued the following statement:

"As the Jewish community across the country and world usher in the start of the Jewish New Year, Rosh Hashanah, New Democrats would like to extend best wishes to the entire Jewish community.
Rosh Hashanah is a time to ask for forgiveness while renewing hope and celebrate the new year with loved ones. In this moment of reflection, let’s acknowledge all of the important contributions that the Jewish community has made to Canada and their remarkable strength and resilience throughout history. Antisemitism is still widespread in this country, and I call on all Canadians to use this new year to stand up to hate wherever it occurs.
On behalf of all New Democrats, I hope all of our Jewish friends and neighbours have a joyous, healthy, and wonderful New Year. May the year 5784 bring peace, justice and joy across Canada and the world.
