NDP Leader Jagmeet Singh reacts to Nova Scotia election results

“I would first like to congratulate Premier-elect Tim Houston. And I want to extend my warmest congratulations to Gary Burrill and the Nova Scotia NDP on a strong and well-run campaign. More NDP representatives in Nova Scotia will mean more MLAs fighting to make life more affordable and equal for families.

“Gary and his team put forward a plan that allowed people to believe something better is possible, and more Nova Scotians showed up and voted for that plan than they have for years.

“When this election started, the pundits said the Liberals were on an easy road to a majority government. This election shows just how much campaigns and every vote matters.

“Like people across the country, Nova Scotians want their government to focus on what matters most to them—not just say the right thing and never deliver.

“I know the stronger Nova Scotia NDP caucus will be working for families every day.

"I look forward to working with them to keep fighting for Nova Scotians and all Canadians.”
