Trudeau teamed up with Erin O’Toole to vote against workers
For 18 months of the pandemic, Justin Trudeau refused to deliver paid sick leave to keep workers safe.
And he teamed up with Erin O’Toole to:
- Vote against making medication more affordable for uninsured workers;
- Vote against dental coverage for uninsured workers;
- Vote against making big corporations that profited from the pandemic pay their share.
When Justin Trudeau signed a trade deal with the US that contained damaging steel and aluminum tariffs, workers were laid off. The NDP fought alongside labour to get the tariffs permanently removed.
The NDP platform commits to using Canadian-made steel, aluminum, cement and wood products for infrastructure projects.
Jagmeet Singh:
“Justin Trudeau and Erin O’Toole are making promises to workers on Labour Day, but their record shows they’re no friend of working families. They teamed up to vote against prescription drug coverage and dental care, and against making the ultra-rich and big corporations pay their share. It’s clear that both of their plans protect the wealthiest and make working families pay the price.”
