Statement from the Official Opposition Leader following the suicide attack in Kabul

Official Opposition Leader Tom Mulcair made the following statement following the suicide attack in Kabul that killed 21 people:

I am deeply saddened by the violent suicide attack in Kabul on Friday that killed 21 people including two Canadians from Gatineau, Mr. Martin Glazer and Ottawa, Mr. Peter McSheffrey. On behalf of Canada's New Democrats I would like to express my deepest sympathies to the victims' families and everyone affected by this atrocious attack.

We join all Canadians in unreservedly condemning this senseless act of violence.

For over ten years, international forces have worked tirelessly to remove the Taliban from power and re-establish peace in this war-ravaged country. Terror and violence must not be allowed to erode this progress.
