Graphic Designer - Permanent, Full-time Position

We are seeking an experienced graphic designer to join our high-energy team. The successful applicant will help the NDP leader and caucus connect effectively with Canadians, by creating impactful designs to be used in various print and digital products.

Responsibilities

  • Contribute as a core creative member of the Products team within the Communications department
  • Develop print and digital communication products to support the Leader and Caucus
  • Ensure materials follow appropriate professional and internal brand guidelines
  • Collaboratively develop compelling visual concepts, tools, templates and products
  • Help support and train MP staff directly, as needed
  • Work collaboratively to advance the NDP caucus’ parliamentary goals and agenda
  • Other duties as required

Qualifications

  • Professional training and demonstrated experience in graphic design
  • Proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite and related software in a Mac and PC environment
  • Familiarity with design principles in print, online and social media contexts
  • Experience in motion graphics, an asset
  • Ability to work under pressure in a creative team environment, managing tight deadlines and competing priorities
  • Strong organizational skills, communication skills and sound political judgment
  • Sound knowledge of Canadian politics, the NDP and current affairs
  • Bilingualism is an asset

Annual salary

$62,500

(salary levels subject to clauses 12 and 21 of the collective agreement)
