Financial Agent & Logistics - Québec Section (Part-time)

Job summary

The Federal New Democratic Party is seeking an individual to fill the position of Financial Agent & Logistics – Québec Section.

Job duties

• In cases where he/she has been appointed by a Québec Electoral District Association (EDA) to act as its Financial Agent and/or appointed by a Candidate to act as his/her Official Agent pursuant to the Canada Elections Act:

- coordinating and undertaking all financial activity on behalf of Quebec riding associations/campaigns (preparing cheques, depositing donations, preparing receipts)
- maintaining administrative records for bank accounts
- entering all activity into the financial tracking system (EFR)
- any other statutory obligations of a Financial Agent/Official Agent pursuant to the Canada Elections Act
- preparing a monthly financial report for each riding association
  • Prepare section specific lists (membership etc...)
  • Assist political staff with responses to questions from Québec EDA’s and campaigns with
  • understanding the rules and regulations pursuant to the Canada Elections Act
  • Set-up and co-ordination of Québec Section meetings as required (negotiate Council, Convention and meeting hotel contracts in conjunction with the appropriate Director)
  • Oversee Convention/Council registration
  • Performing other general office duties as and when assigned

Required skills

  • Experience in administration or project coordination;
  • Experience in working with volunteers;
  • Handle and prioritize a range of tasks and manage time effectively;
  • Proficient in the use of Outlook, Microsoft Word and Excel;
  • Knowledge of current political issues, the New Democratic Party structure and policies.
  • Sound political judgment;
  • Bilingualism (French and English)
  • Knowledge of Elections Canada reporting requirements an asset;

Annual Salary: $51 720.96 – $53 160.95 (pro-rated at 16.5 hours per week)

Type: Part-time

All conditions of employment are in accordance with the collective agreement between COPE 225 and the New Democrats of Canada Association.
