Responsibilities

  • Develop original content for a wide variety of social media platforms
  • Produce content for web based communications products
  • Ensure written materials follow strict messaging and branding guidelines
  • Vary language, tone and level of message based on the nature and community of each social media platform
  • Prepare online content material for the day-to-day needs of the Leader and caucus
  • Liaise with NDP researchers, communications staff, and legislative assistants to ensure consistency in approaches
  • Assist with support and training of MP staff
  • Work collaboratively to advance the NDP caucus parliamentary goals and agenda
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Relevant work experience in social media community management and web based communications
  • Experience in generating reports on various social media metrics and using analytics
  • Familiarity with and in-depth knowledge of Twitter, Facebook, YouTube and other social media platforms
  • Comfortable learning new software, platforms and websites
  • Demonstrated experience using digital platforms for paid advertising
  • Able to ensure the quality of her/his own work, thoroughly and rigorously with strong attention to details
  • Demonstrated strategic political judgment and existing knowledge of contemporary Canadian politics and current affairs
  • Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines, work productively under pressure, and handle competing priorities
  • Demonstrated ability to show initiative and manage projects independently
  • Ability to work well in a team environment
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Bilingualism is required

Annual salary

$58,657

(salary levels subject to clauses 12 and 21 of the collective agreement)
