Canada's NDP

Tell the government you stand with Jagmeet.

It’s time for action on racism - not words.

On Wednesday, June 17 Jagmeet Singh was kicked out of the House of Commons for calling out racism.

The NDP brought forward a motion to take concrete action on systemic racism in the RCMP - with real solutions.

We could have forced the government to take concrete solutions including a review of the nearly $10 million per day the federal government spends on the RCMP and increasing non-police investments in de-escalation and mental health and addiction supports.

The motion didn’t get the unanimous consent we needed for it to pass. Jagmeet called out those that not only rejected the motion but also dismissed the reality of systemic racism altogether.

As Jagmeet said to the media after, it seems someone can act racist in the House of Commons and not get kicked out - but someone who calls out racism gets kicked out.

The time for words is over. Everyone - corporations, the Liberal government, celebrities - is full of nice words calling out racism. But the thousands of people on the streets in cities across the country and around the world are tired of words.

The government still has the power to act. Now, they just need the will.

Add your name to tell the government you are done listening to words and that you want them to act.
