One of my earliest memories is looking for toads and wildflowers with my mother and grandmother. Growing up, both mum and granny taught me a lot about ecology, about how to appreciate the environment and protect it for future generations.

This Mother’s Day, I’m thinking about how valuable these lessons are to me – because they’re not just about the environment, they’re also about caring for and defending the most vulnerable in our communities.
