PETITION TO THE GOVERNMENT OF CANADA

We the undersigned residents of Canada, draw the attention of the government to the following:

  • THAT following his trip to India the Prime Minister of Canada stood behind claims of foreign interference by elements within the Indian government regarding the affair surrounding Jaspal Atwal, allegations made by Mr. Daniel Jean, the Prime Minister’s National-Security Adviser;
  • THAT these allegations are extremely serious and if true would have profound implications on Canada’s international diplomacy;
  • THAT Canadians are deeply concerned about any allegation of foreign interference that undermine our sovereignty and democratic institutions;
  • THAT if these allegations are proven untrue, that would constitute a serious breach in the trust of Canadians;

THEREFORE, we call on the government to immediately launch an investigation to into the allegations that elements of the Indian government are engaged in foreign interference, because Canadians deserve the truth.
