Nobody should get a criminal record for simple possession of marijuana

Add your name to end unfair arrests and pardon those convicted of possession:

The Liberals have proposed legalizing marijuana possession, but will continue to allow thousands of Canadians to be charged in the meantime.

Each year, roughly 20,000 Canadians – mostly youth and racialized people – receive criminal records for marijuana possession. These records stay with them for the rest of their lives, making it harder to travel and find a job.

Justin Trudeau himself admitted to smoking marijuana while he was a Member of Parliament – something the proposed changes will make legal – but is leaving others who do the same to be charged.

The unequal treatment of individuals when it comes to marijuana possession is just not fair. It's time to end unfair arrests and pardon those convicted of possession.
