Save Laurentian University

Tell Justin Trudeau to sit down with the province and save Laurentian University.

While the Liberals stand on the sidelines, Northern Ontario’s largest educational hub for Indigenous, French and English students is in crisis. Our governments must work together and do what’s right – before it’s too late.

For generations, Laurentian University has been a beating heart for Sudbury and for Northern Ontario. Now, over 60 academic programs at the publicly funded institution have been cut – and Justin Trudeau is nowhere to be found.

As the only university with a tri-cultural mandate to support French, English, and Indigenous communities, these cuts are devastating. Thousands of students attend Laurentian to study – and they deserve access to inclusive learning spaces. But instead of defending bilingual education, the Liberals have failed to act in a time of crisis.

We need a federal government willing to give Northern Ontario a lifeline.

Students, staff, faculty and communities in Northern Ontario are counting on the federal and provincial governments to step up and provide Laurentian with the emergency funding it needs. Without it, the future of the University and its capacity to serve language minority communities is at risk.

Add your name to call on Trudeau’s Liberals to sit down with the province and save Laurentian University.
