West Kootenay and South Okanagan has been at the forefront of several climatic disasters.
From flooding to wildfires, the impacts of the climate crisis are real in our region.
This crisis necessitates immediate actions, but Trudeau’s Liberals keep dragging their feet and our region continues to pay the price.
57% of the climate funding promised from Trudeau hasn’t been spent and, in the meantime, he continues to hand out billions to big oil companies.
And Pierre Poilievre would prefer to do nothing to fight the climate crisis while stacking the deck even higher for the ultra-wealthy.
We need the government to take urgent, immediate climate action now. That means ending fossil fuel subsidies, and investing significantly in climate mitigation and adaptation, emergency preparedness and in clean energy projects.
We must build a sustainable future that works for everyone — not just the ultra-wealthy.
