NDP CALLS OUT TRUDEAU ON FOURTH ANNIVERSARY OF HUMAN RIGHTS RULING ON KIDS

Earlier today, NDP critic for Indigenous Youth Charlie Angus made the following statement:

“Four years ago today, First Nations Children won a historic victory at the Canadian Human Rights Tribunal. The federal government was found guilty of systemic discrimination and "reckless" policies that denied basic health services to First Nations children.
"Instead of keeping their promise to accept this decision, the Trudeau Liberal government has spent four years fighting the Tribunal every step of the way. While children continue to suffer, they have spent millions on lawyers to try and quash the ruling.

"On the fourth anniversary, we call on Justin Trudeau to stop his battle against the obligation to provide fair services to First Nations kids.
"Canada needs to stand up for the rights of children. New Democrats will continue to fight every day to ensure that they get justice."
