Constituency Office, Terrace, British Columbia


  • Casework: Help constituents resolve challenges they are experiencing, including case research, advocacy, liaison with federal departments, correspondence, and data entry.
  • Office Management: Manage the Member’s Terrace constituency office; ensure the office is an accessible, safe environment for all constituents; engage with walk-in visitors; and process incoming correspondence.
  • Outreach:Organize outreach events; represent the Member at community events and meetings; monitor community events; advise the Member on emerging issues; and work alongside other team members to schedule the Member’s time in the riding.
  • Relationships: Establish and maintain productive relationships with local governments, First Nations, and community organizations.
  • Team: Work collaboratively as a member of a dynamic seven-person team located in Terrace, Prince Rupert, Smithers, and Ottawa.
  • Other duties as required.



  • Proven verbal and written communication skills in English
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Ability to work under pressure and to meet deadlines
  • Strong basic computer skills (Microsoft Windows, MS Office applications)
  • Sound political judgement
  • Post-secondary education or equivalent experience
  • Valid driver’s license

An asset:

  • Experience working with Indigenous communities
  • Knowledge of northwest BC community dynamics, civil society movements, Canadian politics, government departments, and the New Democratic Party
  • Experience working with social media
  • Desktop publishing, graphic design, and layout skills

Annual salary


(Salary levels subject to clauses 12 and 21 of the collective agreement)
