Research Officer - Canada's New Democratic Party
Job Summary
The New Democratic Party of Canada is seeking a Research Officer to play a key role in election preparations. Under the supervision of the Director, the Research Officer will undertake key research projects to support the work of the Field team and the office of the National Director. Successful candidates will be expected to work independently.
Job Duties
- Engage in research projects as directed, including written reports.
- Preparing succinct and accurate reports within tight timelines.
- Follow-up on requested information.
- Other duties as assigned.
Job Qualifications
- Organized individual with strong research skills and attention to detail.
- At least one year of proven recent research experience.
- Demonstrated commitment to advancing social justice.
- Proven ability to work energetically without supervision and produce accurate work according to deadlines while maintaining organized records.
- Ability to write succinctly, powerfully, quickly.
- A thorough and well-demonstrated appreciation for discretion and confidentiality.
- Experience working with confidential information in a professional setting.
- Understanding of digital security and privacy best practices.
- The ability to multi-task, be highly organized and detail-oriented
- Excellent political judgement and a keen ability to interpret subtext - the ability to “read between the lines”.
- Proven experience with online research tools and techniques.
- Bilingualism is considered an asset.

Ottawa, Ontario is Preferred. Other remote options for the ideal candidate are possible

Terms:
Full-Time, Contract until the next Federal Election (Maximum contract length until October 2025)
Rate of Pay:
$62,000 per year
