Nunavut - Constituency Assistant, Permanent, Part-Time Position

This is an opportunity to help the people in Nunavut.

The Member of Parliament (MP) is seeking individual(s) interested in an opportunity to be apart of a team whose mission is to represent Nunavummiut to the best of our ability.

This position would involve administrative items such as answering phone calls and emails. Engaging in different types of communication and correspondence with Nunavummiut, the Ottawa office and local community organizations. It would also involve assisting community members with issues they may be facing with federal government programs. Our office would also like to begin and continue established relationships with community organizations to work on common initiatives such as food insecurity or housing.

You would work closely with the staff in Ottawa who can provide support and training. We encourage those of all education and experience backgrounds to apply. Please include a cover letter of why you’re interested in working in the Nunavut MP office and your resume. We encourage Inuit to identify as so. We are looking for an Inuktitut and English speaker for this position.

The hours of work are flexible, and a schedule can be set that works best for you.

You will need access to a computer, internet and have a phone.

Annual salary

TBD (salary levels subject to clauses 12 and 21 of the collective agreement)
