News that India had allegedly a hand in the murder of a Canadian citizen, Hardeep Singh Nijjar, on Canadian soil is a deeply troubling development that deserves an emergency response from this government.

So many Canadians have fled persecution and violence in their home countries to find a place of safety and security in Canada. This will not and cannot change.

Jagmeet will leave no stone unturned, no law, measure, or tool unexplored in seeking the severest consequences for those responsible in the murder of a Canadian citizen on Canadian soil. New Democrats are calling for:

RCMP protection for people who may be under threat.
Diplomatic sanctions and a review of all India diplomats in Canada.
Ban of Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) Network in Canada.
India being included in the work of the foreign interference inquiry.
