Team sports are a great way for kids to stay fit and develop leadership skills that will serve them later in life. So it’s important that all our children get that opportunity. Under the Conservatives, Canada received a grade of ‘D’ for the physical activity of our youth. Stephen Harper’s plan isn’t working for our kids and grandkids.
It’s time for change in Ottawa. As Prime Minister, Tom Mulcair will take concrete action to ensure no child is shut out of the game.
Tom’s plan will give kids a chance to play by investing $28 million in Sport Canada to support greater participation of low income and disadvantaged youth in physical activity. This significant investment will help give young Canadians an equal opportunity to play sports and remain active — because all kids deserve a healthy and active childhood.
