Today I announced the following changes to the New Democrat Official Opposition shadow cabinet:
Jean Crowder (Nanaimo-Cowichan) will take over as Chair of the Standing Committee on Access to Information, Privacy and Ethics and Kennedy Stewart (Burnaby-Douglas) will take over as Associate Natural Resources Critic for Western Canada.
In addition, Hélène Laverdière (Laurier – Sainte Marie) will become Foreign Affairs Critic, while Jinny Sims (Newton-North Delta) is appointed Critic for International Cooperation and Associate Critic of Foreign Affairs.
These changes show the strength and depth of the New Democrat caucus. Our team is united and has a wide range of experience to draw from. We will continue to do the job that Canadians sent us here to do: fight for Canadian families and hold Stephen Harper to account every single day.
