Statement by Hon. Jack Layton on the inauguration of President Barack Obama

The New Democrat Caucus gathered to witness history today as we watched the inauguration of the first African-American President in the United States.

On behalf of New Democrats across the Canada, I wish to send my congratulations to President Barack Obama.

Under President Obama, we look forward to a renewed sense of cooperation between our two great nations.
