Reality check: Stephen Harper’s made-up price for the F-35s goes out the window

In an article that appears today, Lockheed Martin confirms what everyone – except Stephen Harper – already knew: Canada will pay the same price for the F-35 as everyone else:

“F-35 manufacturer Lockheed Martin has confirmed there are no guarantees on the $75-million figure often cited by the Conservatives.”

The Department of National Defence even admits that the $75 million price per plane being quoted by Stephen Harper is not accurate.

Something is broken in Ottawa when Stephen Harper thinks he can make up numbers on the largest military purchase in Canadian history.

If Stephen Harper really has “detailed figures” that prove otherwise he should produce them today.
