SAINT JOHN – Riding a wave of momentum into Saint John today, Jack Layton called on New Brunswickers to replace Stephen Harper with a Prime Minister who will fight for them.
“Stephen Harper turned his back on New Brunswick. He cut $15 million from the Atlantic Canada Opportunity Agency and gave big corporations billions in tax giveaways with no strings attached. And Michael Ignatieff supported Harper 100 times and got nothing in return for New Brunswick.”
“Work with me to replace Stephen Harper as Prime Minister, and I’ll fight for you and deliver results for New Brunswick families within 100 days,” said Layton.
Layton rallied supporters at a breakfast event featuring eight of the province’s ten New Democrat candidates, including Acadie-Bathurst MP Yvon Godin.
Layton promised practical results with 100 days of taking office—including hiring more doctors, strengthening pensions, and helping small business jump-start job creation.
“Other leaders keep saying you have no choice but to vote for more of the same. But New Brunswickers do have a choice. It comes down to this:
Who do you trust to deliver results for you and your family? You know I’m a fighter, and I won’t stop until the job is done,” said Layton.
