Canadians deserve access to fair and affordable banking services.

Large banks are failing to meet the needs of a growing number of Canadians.

Postal banking is a sustainable solution that provides accessible banking services across Canada where no service is currently available and to those who cannot afford corporate bank fees.

Thousands of towns and villages across our country do not have a bank. But many of them have a post office that could provide access to financial and banking services.

In addition, nearly 2 million Canadians desperately need an alternative to payday lenders whose crippling lending rates affect poor, marginalized, rural, and Indigenous communities most.

We call upon the government of Canada to enact NDP MP Irene Mathyssen’s motion M166 to create a committee to study and propose a plan for postal banking under the Canada Post Corporation. Join us.
