Tom Mulcair ready to improve Canada’s international reputation
Under the Conservatives, Canada’s record as a partner in global peace, diplomacy and development has been tarnished. Tom Mulcair is an experienced leader who Canadians can trust to defend our interests here at home, while furthering human rights, environmental standards and peacekeeping abroad.
“Mr. Harper has lost the respect of the White House. We missed our turn on the Security Council. We're the only country to have withdrawn from the Kyoto protocol,” said Mulcair during tonight’s leaders’ debate. “I'll defend your values Canadian values on the world stage where Mr. Harper has failed.”
As Prime Minister, Tom Mulcair will work with the international community to build relationships with our allies, promoting trade policy that supports Canadian values to repair our relationship with our closest neighbor and friend, the United States.
