Talking point deletion bingo

In an attempt to ensure the Government of Canada’s website aligns with the Minister of Transport’s talking points, Conservatives deleted the FAQs section on the Navigable Waters Protection Act – the part that explicitly states that environmental protection is a responsibility of this Minister.

Fortunately, New Democrats have captured an image of this website for posterity (http://twitpic.com/b70rpv)

The fact that this deletion occurred the day after the NDP used quotes from this site in the House of Commons only undermines the sincerity of their plans. We’ve known Conservatives don’t like to tell the truth, but deleting federal websites in order to hide the truth is a new low for government accountability.

No amount of revisionist history or deleting will protect our rivers once the Navigable Waters Protection Act is gutted and renamed. That’s a fact Conservatives cannot delete.
