Statement from Tom Mulcair, leader of the NDP, on heinous attack on mosque

The NDP categorically condemns the deplorable attack last night on the Mosquée de Saguenay. As the local police said, it was “a heinous act.”

This vandalism, alongside vile messages of discrimination, are deplorable. Acts like these must be denounced and the perpetrators brought to justice.

Freedom of religion is one of the cornerstones of a free and democratic society.

All who value the rights and freedoms we share must condemn such acts of hatred and prejudice.
