Statement by the Official Opposition on Tamil Heritage Month

The Official Opposition’s Critic for Multiculturalism, Andrew Cash (Davenport), made the following statement on Tamil Heritage Month:

“New Democrats are proud to mark Tamil Heritage Month.

Every January, we recognize the role played by the Tamil people in the building, growth and evolution of Canada. We are proud to be home to strong and dynamic Tamil communities.

With much determination, the Tamil community has integrated into our society and has contributed significantly to its cultural enrichment and economic prosperity.

I encourage all Canadians to participate in the celebrations, learn more about Tamil history and culture and celebrate the Tamil’s invaluable contribution to Canada. I wish you a joyful celebration!”
