Statement by Official Opposition Leader Tom Mulcair on Thanksgiving

Official Opposition Leader Tom Mulcair made the following statement to mark Thanksgiving Day:

“Today is an occasion for families and friends to come together in Thanksgiving.

As Canadians we are privileged to live in a country of tremendous opportunity, peace and prosperity. However, there are still far too many families who struggle daily to make ends meet, who can’t give their children a good start in life, for whom the basic necessities are out of reach.

New Democrats are committed to building a Canada where no one is left behind. It is this vision that guides our work in Ottawa and across this country. In that spirit, I encourage those who can, to reach out to help those who are less fortunate.

My wife Catherine and I wish you and yours a peaceful and happy Thanksgiving.”
