Statement by Official Opposition Leader Tom Mulcair on Remembrance Day

Canadians here at home and abroad will pause today to recognize the service of the men and women of our armed forces who selflessly bid farewell to their families and loved ones to answer duty’s call.

Today, we remember with honour those from wars past whose courage and sense of purpose will be an inspiration for generations to come.

We pay tribute to those who have made the ultimate sacrifice, giving their lives in service of this country and in hope of a more peaceful future.

We also salute the service men and women of today, who risk life and limb to fight injustice in pursuit of a better world.

On this Remembrance Day, we acknowledge the immeasurable debt we owe to the families of our troops, who lend us their loved ones and who fill Canadians with pride.

Lest we forget.
