Statement by Official Opposition Leader Tom Mulcair on Ralph Klein’s passing

I was saddened to hear about the passing of Alberta’s 12th Premier and former Calgary Mayor Ralph Klein.

During his 26 years in elected office, Ralph Klein was a formidable voice for his constituents. He was an accomplished leader who should be remembered and honoured for his public service. Everyone appreciated his passion for the province of Alberta.

His work has left an indelible mark on his province.

On behalf of Canada’s New Democrats I extend sincere condolences to Mr. Klein’s family and all who knew him. Our thoughts are with them at this difficult time.
