Statement by the Leader of the Official Opposition Tom Mulcair on Canada Day

The Leader of the Official Opposition Tom Mulcair made the following statement on Canada Day :

“Today, New Democrats join all Canadians in celebrating our country’s 147th birthday by honouring our history and looking to the future with optimism.

Canada is a great country and one of the hopes of the world. We are lucky to live in such an open, welcoming, and diverse place.

We have much to be proud of and by working together, we can build a fairer, more prosperous country for all.

On behalf of New Democrats everywhere, I wish you and your loved ones a safe and happy Canada Day.”
